CHIMBORAZO DAY. Chimborazo Day celebrates the highest point on Earth. It’s also a day to lace up the hiking boots and hit the closest trail.Chimborazo is the highest mountain in Ecuador. The mountain measures 20,000 feet. This is less than Mount Everest, which is more than 29,000 feet. While technically Chimborazo is not the highest mountain in the world, it is the highest point on earth. How can this be? It all depends on how the mountains are measured. Chimborazo is located on the Earth’s bulge at the equator. Because this mountain is measured from Earth’s center, instead of sea level, it is the closest point to the moon.

From yesterday’s comments to crazeekatlady . Sorry to hear of the loss of your “Ladybug”.

I was talking yesterday with my cousin Myra and to my cousin Becky’s pastor (a 3-way call). Myra is going to try to arrange a memorial service for Becky and she wants to try to write up an obituary, since it seems that was never done. Pastor Kermit said that he and his wife would sometimes visit Becky in the nursing home, but the last time they went there, they were told that Becky was no longer there. But the nursing home wouldn’t or couldn’t tell them any more. Not even to say she was dead. Stupid privacy laws! By the way, I had several more pictures of me & Becky (though we never got together often, living in different states), but after what happened to MCTS, I was afraid to post too many.

Oh, Chesney. Your plants will never bloom that way.

Maybe a kinder quieter meow might help!!!

Every day I am waiting for the return of MCTS! This is insane…….

My irises are in full bloom. I think I may cut one so I have flowers inside. I can’t wait for my peonies to bloom!

Ten Cats Friends from Go Comics is a face book page; many of us are members, although our names may be different. I don’t know if More Cats is a member or not, but he could post his daily cat pix and videos there. I won’t copy the link here for obvious reasons, but search and it should come up.

We are a fairly tight group on Ten Cats and some of us have contact info with other members. Queen has mine, I would love it if she passed int along to Rose and anyone else she knows. If others can do the same, we may avoid panicking is someone goes silent.

I’m late posting as you can see. Daughter is visiting and she accompanied me to the Astoria Recycling Event under the Triboro (RFK) Bridge in Astoria, Queens. Mark had loaded the car with so much c**p! What a relief it is getting it out of the house. WHAT A TURNOUT!!!! It felt like forever before we were able to enter Astoria Park. Cops everywhere directing traffic. Daughter got a migraine and was miserable. When we got home she took a pill and slept for 2.5 hrs while I went to the annual Children’s Day in Forest Hills Gardens and had one of the most scrumptious charcoaled cheeseburgers ever! Took great pictures too which I will try to post on Fb. The pony rides were my favorite. Showers were forecast but it was a dry coolish day.

That 3rd panel is SO funny. The little doggo got blown away and lost his widdle hat. Too cute. Hope he recovers to return one day and water Chesney’s plants.

FREE MORE CATS THAN SENSE!

Not like that, Chesney. That’s loud enough to kill every plant within twenty miles! On another note, saw a damselfly, three spotted towhees, a Wilson’s warbler, a Stellar’s jay, eight robins, three butterflies, a dragonfly, a sparrow, and three juncos while out walking today.

Right. Like that’s gonna work!! <snicker!>
