No we can’t! Eight a.m. is too early. I’m usually still sleeping then (except on Sundays when I have to get up early for work).
Speaking of work, I was considering going in for overtime today (O.T. pays pretty good), but I’ not sure I will now. I’m feeling burned out and irritated with people. There was one group of 3 people (a mom and her teenage daughters) who irritated me yesterday. We have signs posted by some items like TP, paper towels and disinfecting wipes, etc. I was over by the laundry detergent when I heard the mom who was in the next aisle, reading the sign by the sanitizing wipes out loud and laughing. When she got to the part that said "Thank you for your understanding, she huffed, "They don’t understand sh**!’ Oh yeah? We understand plenty! We understand that it was people like her who forced us to set limits on purchases. We understand that we have way too many people coming into the store, buying non-essential items – like the family in there shopping for throw pillows. We understand that we are risking our health (and in some cases even our lives) so we can provide them with a place to shop. Listening further I heard the mom say she was an RN and she knew this was all nonsense. We have a virus going around and it is killing people. And a bunch of selfish, greedy, awful people are hoarding necessities so they can sell them for a huge profit. These people think only of themselves. Funny, though, another associate was telling me about this RN who was in the store with her 2 grown teen daughters and how she was being a fool (he used a different phrase) and I realized he was talking about the same ones I overheard being idiots. But he told her off. He’s real good at that. He actually got her to see his point.
No, there’s nothing funny here and I’ll probably stay home today and relax and “chill out”.
