War heroes of the near future. The Chevron Cross was awarded post-humously to infantry-man Paul Roberts, who made the ultimate sacrifice while securing a crucial pumping station at the Adhab oilfield near Kut. The postwar pacification medal went to fighter pilot J.P. Clement, who braved stinger missile fire from Kurdish Al Qaeda forces to fly Saddam Hussein to exile in southern France. The Cluster Cluster was awarded by the navy of the crew of the aircraft carrier Nimitz, whose flight crews dropped colorful cluster bomb canisters with pinpoint accuracy, killing 3 kids at an elementary school in Basra a year after the war.
