    Not to worry, kid.

Just tell him about Hillary’s emails.

If Santa’s an evangelical, you’ll get a mulligan.

Like Trump wrote out his lying answers to Mueller,

now he is in a perjury trap because Mueller knows the truth.

There is no such thing as a “perjury trap”. This is a made up lawyerese bit of word salad that is supposed to disguise the fact that there is no “trap” possible.

Either the “victim” lied under oath about a substantive matter or they did not.

For example, claiming they dyed their hair green when it was really orange is probably not a substantive matter, so would not be perjury.

Stating you and your team had no contact with Russians while talking to Russians, in the context of a case involving collusion with Russia would be perjury, because that’s what the case is all about.

How can that be a “trap”?

(Note for know-nothings – Clinton’s statement about his affair with Lewinsky was ruled to not be relevant to the trial – thus was not material so he did not commit perjury. Yes, it’s entirely possible to lie under oath and not commit perjury. That’s how the law works.

“In some jurisdictions, contrary to popular misconception, no crime has occurred when a false statement is (intentionally or unintentionally) made while under oath or subject to penalty. Instead, criminal culpability attaches only at the instant the declarant falsely asserts the truth of statements (made or to be made) that are material to the outcome of the proceeding.” )

Is Kelley suggesting that all the potentially felonious actions of #45 are “funny?”
