An employment eclipse is happening in California with the $20 minimum wage. People head to work to find their place of employment has simply closed, unable to stay afloat and pay the employees. A burger, fries, and soda are now going for $25 at McDonald’s there, which means a family of four could wipe out half of dad’s check going out for a quick burger run. And think about it. They work an hour and still have to come up with $5 to go on lunch break. Wow. Now, if minimum wage had been getting a “cost of living” raise every year all along, we wouldn’t be in this mess now.
