If only it were actually new. I think it’s safe to say that only the lobbyists who draft legislation to “help” our legislators are the ones who know what’s in them. And I can’t be sure even they know.
I also agree we have too many laws. I am reminded of a skit on Saturday Night Live where the Supreme Court visited a couple in their bedroom. One of the justices said, “I can give you five years for where your hand is right now.”
Prime example is that the Senate has just passed a complicated bill regulating formulating pharmacies, as a response to an entity which, due to many major safety violations, made medicine that made people sick. Uh, we already have laws on the books to cover that one. Move along; nothing to see here.
