Funny, I can’t find a reference to Gerðr’s having a blade, though apparently when Freyr sent Skírnir to try to woo her, Skirnir did have Freyr’s sword, and did in fact threaten Gerðr with it when she resisted these initial advances. She and Freyr (a god) were eventually married. Gerðr is also often referred to as a giantess – though illustrations accompanying the various Norse songs and texts seem to have her as a normal size – but then maybe the gods were giants too.
