Years ago I went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Because speaking or anything other than standing in respect is against protocol I resisted the temptation to smack the back of the heads of the two men who were talking throughout the changing of the guard and who were also wearing their hats during it. Litter is bad enough but that was as disrespectful as anything I’ve ever seen.
