For football and basketball College athletics is dead. These are now totally professional sports with ‘student’ participation only optional. College SPONSORED sports maybe? The NCAA needs to regroup around the ‘minor’ sports where a scholarship might still be sufficient payment to the athletes. I partially blame all the sports pundits who have totally discounted those scholarships as payment for services for all this mess!

I once gave a physics test where all the answers were some form of 42. Despite having brought up the meaning of 42 in class, only one student noticed!

Yes, bathtubs and toilets are way too small to show the Coriolis effect. Weather patterns can. ( took 3 tries to get the spell checker to leave Coriolis alone!)

It can be done, but the only hint I’ll give is that at one point you should have a skinny triangle! ;-)

Mine is in the car for emergencies, my emergencies. Until such happens it remains switched off. Still costs $130 a year to keep active! EarthLink has bought up many smaller companies, but they retain all the old email addresses. I pay them $10/month to retain that account despite having 2 other valid email accounts just to avoid having to change.

The weight is one sixth, but the mass is still the same. This means getting the barbell started in motion is more difficult. The accelerated part of the motion would appear to be in slow motion!

  7. about 2 months ago on Crankshaft

Delivery folks don’t ring the doorbell. They toss your stuff in front of the door ( ignoring the available overhang) onto a wet spot then take a photo which they email to you to prove they did deliver ( maybe last night ) before someone came and stole it!

  8. 2 months ago on Diamond Lil

Just realized that Brett seldom actually draws anything as he can use the same strips over and over with new punchlines!

  9. 2 months ago on Mother Goose and Grimm

I was about to say that I hope she celebrated with a nice dinner and drink.

Slow week for toon ideas?…This is a very old joke.
