    It’d be a while ago, that’s for sure!

    As far as I can tell, the idea that a monarch has the power of summary execution (as opposed to exercising delegated power via courts and parliament) died out in the 17th century.

    Australians do too, but this is because we have FOUR games called “Football”, so each one needs a separate name. :)

    Unfortunately this joke doesn’t work in any other accent than American . . .

    (In Australian English, “Para” and “Barely” don’t share any vowels).

    The amount of radioactive material involved in that set would have been totally safe. People are more aware of dangers, but in this case they overestimate the risks.
