As for trust, hundreds of people could kill me every day as they drive by me on my run, much more easily than they could shoot me. By default, I DO trust people not to be murderous psychopaths until they show warning signs.
Sorry if I sound rude, but… those things just aren’t true. Hunters generally don’t use 15-30-rnd magazines—competition shooters do. And it’s VERY illegal to “modify a weapon to full-auto”. Many people also collect antique firearms, the way wealthier people collect cars. Do you want us to seize and burn someone’s collection of old Smith & Wesson revolvers?
Finally, no law allows people to carry in schools, and NO law permits anyone to drink while armed.
