First, I didn’t say she should earn the same as you. What ticks me off is that you assume she’s some low-life while it’s possible she’s the widow of a US serviceman who was killed in action. If that were the case, then her situation would be the fault of you, me and McDonalds.
Well, Archie, not everyone has your impeccable resume, sterling academic credits and driving ambition. Gee, if we could all be like you, everyone would earn an above average salary.
Sunlight delivers about 1KW per square meter at latitudes below about 45 degrees. My panels are about 20% efficient. As of this year, efficiencies of about 45% have been achieved. Solar is the safest form of fusion power because the reactor is at a relatively safe distance. As for batteries, lithium polymer has a higher power density than lead acid. We may eventually reach a point of diminishing returns, but we ain’t there yet.
Between state and fed, the subsidy was about 30%. Nowhere near the billions they give big oil every year, but it helped. The average solar day here is 6 hours. In the summer, my electric bill is $300 lower than before.
Meanwhile here in reality, my 3.5KW of ‘will never work’ solar has produced over 50MWH in the 6 years since installation. My savings have paid about 60% of the installation price and I expect breakeven at 10 years, halfway through the 20 year warranty.BTW, you do know that enoki is a type of mushroom, right?
1. You misspelled her name despite its being in the cartoon you’re commenting on.2. Obama is somewhere to the right of Eisenhower. You want to talk about socialists, you need to learn about FDR.
In addition to @AlnicoV’s comment, I would suggest that you not attempt to teach a pig to sing, it wastes your time and annoys the pig… from “The Notebooks of Lazarus Long” by Robert Heinlein
Not all Democrats voted for the original bill.I still have my policy.I still have my doctor. My daughter, a cancer survivor, can afford health insurance for the first time in 20 years.Obama was re-elected over Romney, not McCain.Polls can be misleading, I think the country is headed too far toward a corporate welfare state. Billions for big agriculture and big oil, but to heck with people who’s jobs were sent offshore to bolster already bloated corporate profits. I’m a disgusted taxpayer too, but apparently not for the same reasons that you are.
The ACA was passed by majorities in the House and Senate and signed by a President who ran with health care reform as one of his platforms and who was subsequently re-elected.
Oops, missed that… never mind!
