The above toon is an old panel, since then they have made a new bike crossing, it’s at the corner of Zwank and Shemp:

Motorcyclists are the ones that scare me. They travel in swarms on the open road that I hate to even come close to. And they ride the stripe in traffic jams. I am always afraid that I won’t see them and inadvertently hit one while changing lanes, or even just moving closer to the stripe.

Riding the stripe is legal for them. I think the only reason that it is legal is because the cops figured out that they couldn’t stop it. They are also legal in the car pool lanes – not sure why that is. Because they don’t use much gas?

It is symbolic of his discontinuance of the DVD by mail service. I think.

Susan, had it not been for your comment, I would not be enlightened enough to be making mine. You are brilliant, as usual.

Now that the niceties are over, I am going to disagree with you a little.

I interpret this puzzle (for I would rather classify Brevity as a puzzle than a comic,) as a disgruntled Netflix customer reacting to the recent Netflix policy change, that severed the combined streaming and mail service, by switching entirely to streaming service while discontinuing the DVD mailing and consequently paying less. (BTW, I initially thought he was throwing VCR tapes in the river – duh.) Thus he thinks he is getting the better of Netflix because he is still going to get to see his movies, and even better, give less money to Netflix at the same time.

He won’t stream for free, but he will see his movies more cheaply, and quite smugly.

This comment is entirely your fault, otherwise I would have been a fish out of water. But I suppose that’s water under the bridge now. I hope.
