One must appreciate the properly placed pun in panel four.
And the plot thickens! Sharpe’s status has changed from “victim” to “patsy”. It appears that Dr. Flack was using him from the start.
Yes, well, Young Mr. Knott is not the greatest of actors. It would not be hard to guess that his true profession lies elsewhere. Mr. Sharpe may still be surprised at his innocence being proven by his own hangman.
Itself, not himself. My apologies.
Actually, I think physical contact was helping him break out of it. Knotty was helping ground his client in the real when the conditioning sadly reasserted himself.
I believe this entire forum is in agreement that this is the case. Whether they find evidence to support this theory in the desk is what we are in suspense over.
Exactly what I was thinking. Very clever and more than a little paranoid to make the trigger be the person he/she/it put in jail, but obviously there will be a payoff in the end.
Well, Sharpe’s illusions about her feelings towards him have been thoroughly evaporated. Hopefully it will be a while before his “smug” returns.
He probably thinks she’s starting to like him, which is why his “smug” is showing more than usual.
