I don’t think they’re trying to reach the type of Christian who would be offended by the ad. Rather, they’re going for “hey, questioning your religion? You’re not alone. Also, you can still have Christmas.” Yes, atheists can be a loud bunch, but it’s good to know there are a few people fighting for facts and reason.

If heaven/hell only led to morally good behavior, that would be one thing. Too bad about the crusades, spanish inquisition, denial of science for the past few centuries, the Holocaust, Iraq war (both sides), 9/11 attacks, firebombing of abortion clinics, need I go on?Religious morality is easily misled—its dogmatic approach to difficult issues leads to people not using their head to think about the true consequences of their actions.

@King Shark I most certainly am. 8 years in an undisclosed location… doesn’t describe anyone. Bin Laden? Active for over 30 years. Bush? Huh?

@Kali39 If “nature abhors a vacuum” implies existence of God, then I feel as safe as ever being an atheist. The concept of “nature abhors a vacuum” was disproved by Evangelista Torricelli in the 1600s when it was shown that the “sucking” force of vacuums comes rather from an imbalance of pressure. Science always beats nonsense, remember that kids.
