Wait … did that actually say $8????I haven’t had a babysitter that cost less than $25 for the evening in years … and that’s without a tip!

The babysitter’s cost is often the most expensive part of a night out for my wife and I which, sadly, with this economy is seldom enough.

Now THAT’s funny. Spent 14yrs in Marathon. Intellectual population about 12 … in the winter. 2 in the summer. If you don’t fish, boat, or dive, don’t go.

The thing about beer is that it tastes the same going in as it does (I assume, no actual test here) going out. It’s okay for kids trying to act like grownups. Me? I’ll take my coffee – Cuban coffee – strong. Strong enough to put hair on your chest, so ladies, be advised. Save the beer for fried-fish batter, or for the plants outside.

I bet there are a few college coaches that thought they were “beyond being fired”. No one is untouchable.

Ah, just a correction there, the Phantom was the F4; F14 is the much newer Tomcat. Oh and Bill – I musta been asleep at the wheel again, absolutely LOVE “fundiwack”. Fits so marvelously well.

And not that anyone asked, but if anyone really thinks we’re leaving the middle east anytime soon, you might want to 1) check what you have in your gas tank <yes, even those of you with electric cars; what do you think is likely making the electricity? Yup, diesel>, and 2) Have you been listening to what is going on in Iran????

And Afghanistan is lost from day one. NO one has ever won a war there, why do we think a half-arsed attempt would change that?

Oh, yeah. American arrogance. I almost forgot. silly me …

Sounds like someone needs to review how colors mix there, Petey…

Back in AmLit in college I used to answer all the essays in the style of the writers we were studying….. with a bit of an edge, attitude, and a sense of humor. Song of Myself (Whitman) took on a whole new meaning. Aced the course anyway. :-)

My daugher loves the IDEA of Santa, but is terrified of him in person. Big, red, can’t read his face; how DO we come up with these scarey-happy icons anyway? Same thing goes for clowns.

Fear of clowns = CoulrophobiaFear of Santa = Santaphobia

And I didn’t even have to look that one up.

I had ferrets – lots of ferrets – for years. Really awesome. Now I have a Newfie. Even awesomer. Perhaps the most more awesomest even. BTW, with ferrets the key to enjoyment is LOTS of gentle handling. And don’t make kissy-smoochie faces with a ferret up close or you’ll have pierced lips. Or nostrils. Other than that their way cool.

If tabloids are not ‘news’, why do they seem to get the scoop on so many celebrities? And the frequent lawsuits which they often win? Does no one remember the wisdom from Men in Black?? Oh, the travesty!
