I might as well add my 2 cents’ worth about the Zit. Her scenario reads like a rape fantasy. I would think the LAST thing a rape victim would indulge in is a rape fantasy.
Adding to what georgiiii said — The reason people who don’t get the shot can get away with it is because of those of us who do. If NOBODY got the shot, flu would sweep the country and we’d all be sick. I’m not saying everybody should. But those of you who don’t owe the rest of us a favor.
Maybe Doc is using the “feigned incompetence” strategy. If you’re so bad at doing something your spouse won’t let you do it, then you’ve gotten out of doing it!
@kreole I raised a boy, too, and it definitely WAS an issue. I dreaded shoe shopping. He didn’t want to be bothered with the tedious task of trying on shoes. He was extremely sensitive about how they fit — these are too loose, these are too tight, etc. etc. If I could have done it without him, I would have. We did exactly that with his clothes for years. If I didn’t make him go with me, he’d wear whatever I bought. Luckily, clothes are easier to fit than shoes.
