Considering Mexico’s illegal immigration policy, seems the sign should say ‘Mexico’.

It’s funny hearing from formerly pro-illegal immigration folks who are out of work and realizing who has taken the jobs they could have now to feed their families. I can’t understand why people can’t be more far sighted.

With all that is going on, you’d think Oliphant would stand up to fight the mess in Washington instead of going backwards to the Palin well.

Don’t forget all of the other Democrats deciding to pass on a seat in Washington. Such as no more Kennedys in Congress! I give them credit, along with any other politician that scoots, that they foresee the disaster this year will be.

Obama passed last June to stop ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ and the Patriot Act.. Now he wants to look into it. Let’s see what he does next.

Bush and the first two years of the Democratic majority Congress got us into this (Remember the Democrats were in charge of Congress in the last two years of the Bush administration and Bush foolishly went along with their stupid bailout plans and lack of focus). Here we are with a third year of a Democratic majority and a President who has taken the bulk of the last few years travesties and tripled them. Triple debt. Triple wars. Find someone frustrated with the last few years and you’ll likely find someone turning away from BOTH parties. There are many of us that are well educated, prosperous types (unlike Oliphant’s depiction) who are sick of BOTH parties and are working toward a non-partisan vision of a better country. After Bush, Obama and the Democratic Congress it couldn’t get..much…worse, at least!

What’s with all the focus on the old news story of Cheney. I think it’s time for Mr. Oliphant to tackle the day to day goings on in Washington. There’s much fun to be had there. Just yesterday - The Jobs Summit, more money for war, etc.

Nobody asked Obama to get further involved with Afghanistan. He also has put it upon himself to have these little excursions in Pakistan. All of these he promised he would do during the campaign. The only war-like action he hasn’t done yet is send troops in Darfur. Nothing stops him from stopping all wars now, shutting down Gitmo and setting the prisoners free. He just hasn’t done anything except increase everything that Bush started. He’s also approved “don’t ask, don’t tell” and the PAtriot Act to continue. Obama is Bush3 and Axelrod is Bush’s Cheney.

First, the “attack Politics” seemed fine with folks for the 8 years previous to the current mess we have. From one mess to another. Maybe Olipant should see the similarities between Bush and Obama and the media stances. Where was a similar cartoon of MSNBC during the Bush years?

Second, it is silly of me to ask the last question when I think this is irresponsible no matter who is in office or what the media is or isn’t doing to present commentary like this. But there is a first amendment and he’s certainly should be able to present his views. If only Oliphant would recognize he’s in the same business and under the same Constitution as Fox News.

Kreole is correct about focus shift by Bush Administration. As others have written here Afghanistan has proven itself unwinnable in modern times, our experience will be the same. However you slice it, Obama (Bush3) is continuing the trail left by Bush, but expanding the theater in ways that are impossible for the US to win. Though, a perfect way to rise our military deaths to new highs.
