   Good point! Jimmy recently had a series showing something of their origin story, but it didn’t get that far, so to speak. All we know is that since then she has been quite enthusiastic about it, though I don’t think sleep has had much to do with it.

   My dad was in the 82nd Airborne, captured during the Battle of Anzio and spent the remainder of the war in various POW camps. Nearly starved on the 80-day march as an entire camps headed west to make sure they were not “liberated” by Soviets. As tough as his experience was, I share with Arlo the realization that I could easily have not been here, since his unit took heavy casualties during the Normandy invasion. Not many of them left these days. He came home from the war, but a part of his spirit got left on that battlefield.

    Just came from the hospital. A friend had an outing with two of her grandchildren Tuesday night, getting manicures and pedicures, eating out, having a grand old time. Yesterday, she had a stroke. Today, those grandchildren and others are gathered around her hospital bed waiting to see what will happen next. You just never know.
