You can’t judge the total climate by one area’s experience. Also, a harsh winter could be related to a warming effect. The two aren’t mutually exclusive. But let’s leave aside the whole greenhouse/global warming issue for a moment. If you could use a fuel source that was home grown and cleaner, why wouldn’t you? Why would you want to use energy sources that make us more dependent on the Middle East and Russia instead of developing resources that would be domestic products? Granted some of those resources would be oil and coal. And I’m all for the Keystone pipeline. But I think it’s worth the cash outlay now to start developing other energy sources for later. My apologies if I’m making assumptions.
