Know what you mean, Sally. The way math was taught in my school in the 60s, it didn’t seem to be anything to do with me, either. It was that “New Math” that they later abandoned—it hung around my school just long enough to confuse me for the rest of my life. They started with it in the middle of the school year in 3rd grade. My teachers hated it and didn’t understand it either, really. Then in 6th grade I had to transfer to a new school and they had never used the “new math”—so I had lost 3 years of grounding in real math.

And yes, Merry Christmas everyone. Drive safely if you must drive.

People who are not good at math often excel at other talents..Same with people who cannot spell. One of the most genius civil engineers I ever met spelled soil as “durt”.

She reminds me of Calvin from “Calvin and Hobbes”.

My Grandson’s failing Physics and is still excited about Christmas and all the goodies it means for him. (and not doing any homework to better his grade)

Sally will later go on to work for Mattel in the Barbie line and is a successful executive until she comes up with the idea for a talking Barbie that says “Math is hard.”
