Peppermint Patty and Marcie sit in theatre seats. Marcie reads the playbill and says, "This next piece is a concerto for flute and orchestra . . ."<BR><BR> Marcie exclaims, "It was composed by Ellen Zwilich who, incidentally, just happens to be a woman!"<BR><BR> Peppermint Patty stands up in her chair and shouts, "Good going, Ellen!" Marcie slumps in her seat.<BR><BR>
Ellen Taaffe Zwilich will be mentioned again seven years later. In the strip from March 16, 1997, Schroeder tells Lucy he is playing from Zwilich’s latest album “Peanuts Galley”, six songs about the Peanuts gang. One such song is called “Peppermint Patty and Marcie Lead the Parade”.
