Lucy stands in the baseball field, lifts her cap off her head, and wipes her brow with a heated breath.<BR><BR> She goes up to Charlie Brown who is standing on the pitcher's mound. She says,"Hey, manager, it's too hot out there in right-field..."<BR><BR> She points and looks to her left and says,"I'm gonna go stand in the shade under that tree...."<BR><BR> She turns back to face him and says,"Try to pitch the ball so they'll hit it to me under the tree!"<BR><BR> He screws his face up as though he is pondering something and then says,"I have a better idea..."<BR><BR> He continues,"Go home, and pour yourself a nice cold glass of lemonade, and then sit down in the kitchen..."<BR><BR> She walks off and he continues,"Leave the back door open..."<BR><BR> He calls after her,"I'll pitch the ball so they'll hit it through the door, into the kitchen where you'll be having your cold lemondade!"<BR><BR> Lucy sits at the table with the checkered tablecloth in her kitchen with the backdoor opened, holding a glass. She looks at the reader and says,"I wonder if he was being sarcastic.."<BR><BR>
It’s unlikely to have much of an effect on the game either way.
