Lucy stands in the baseball field with a thoughtful expression on her face. She says,"Maybe I should find out..."<BR><BR> She yells out,"Hey!" Charlie Brown standing atop the pitcher's mound, gives the reader a puzzled look.<BR><BR> Lucy exclaims,"Hey, Manager! Ask your catcher if he still loves me!" Charlie Brown calls out to his right,"She wants to know if you still love her!"<BR><BR> He swivels his head to the left and calls out,"He says, 'No!'." She calls outs,"Ask him, 'Why not?'."<BR><BR> He calls to his left,"She wants to know why not..." He turns to his right and calls,"He says there are so many reasons he can't remember them!"<BR><BR> She replies,"Really? That's very depressing..."<BR><BR> He calls to her,"Do you mind if we get on with the game?" She asks,"What game?"<BR><BR> He yells,"The baseball game!!" She looks at the reader and says,"Oh, that's right..."<BR><BR> She faces front and concludes,"I was wondering why I was standing out here!"<BR><BR>
There aren’t many players like Lucy, thank God.
