Peanuts by Charles Schulz for October 21, 1979
Transcript:
Sally sits at her desk with a nest atop the desk. She says,"Yes, Ma'am, I'll be first..." She walks to the front of the classroom with the nest in tow; she says,"Keep your head down until I tell you..."

She smiles and says,"For 'Show and Tell' today, I have brought an authentic bird's nest!"

She gestures to the nest and says,"As a special treat, I have also invited the owner of the nest." Woodstock pops his head up from the nest and smiles.

She continues,"Now, as you may or may not realize, bird nest are very difficult to build..."

She continues,"Therefore, I have asked the owner himself to explain some of the problems he might have had with the construction of this beautiful home."

Woodstock starts to chirp an explanation.

Sally says,"That's interesting...now tell us what happened after your bout with the city planning commission...."

Not that I don’t like Woodstock, but I think Schulz always found this “bird” speech funnier than I always did.
