If I understood Governor Northam’s explanation, this incident occurred around 1984. I’ve heard some people say that it was a foolish prank of a youngster. However, this “youngster” was in medical school at the time. Presently, he’s denying that the photograph is of himself while simultaneously admitting he had worn blackface as a Michael Jackson Halloween dress-up. Assuming no skipped grades or college courses, this incident would have occurred when he was in, or very near, his mid-twenties. In short, he was an adult. A young adult to be sure, but still an adult, and old enough to know better. As a result, he should face the consequences of his actions. My twenties are so far over the age horizon, as to be practically invisible. But even then, I knew blackface was offensive, insensitive, and simply wrong! And that was in the deep south before the 1980s. While I will admit people can change, whether he should resign I leave to the good people of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The people of Virginia should decide, but look at his record SINCE 1984 FOR civil rights, then compare to Bonespurs’ and followers tweets and actions in the last week, like the real statement behind “walls”. If the governor should resign for actions long ago, Bonespurs should retire to Mara Lago on a permanent basis, tomorrow.
If every politician who didn’t change his stripes but just hid them under a $1200 suit jacket were required to step down, there’d be no….. OH!!! I LOVE THAT IDEA!!!!!

Northam was going to demonstrate the moonwalk at a press conference but his wife stopped him because of the “inappropriate circumstances”.

He doesn’t have the silver glove. He also needs a sense of decency.

But will they force Fairfax out? That is the big question.
