Two doctor visits in two days and mostly good news. Radiation oncologist weekly visit yesterday: he said I am doing very well and have a remarkable lack of skin discoloration for this point in my treatment. He also said that the fatigue I’ve been having is perfectly normal.
Today’s visit was with my primary care doc, and she says I’m doing very well, too. All of my blood work came back improved from last time and she has no concerns. Plus I get to stop taking one of the horse pill sized supplements I’ve been taking twice a day for several years. Yay! (Flaxseed oil – it was meant to help keep my cholesterol under control, but now I’m taking a statin drug for that so I can stop when I run out sometime next week. One teeny little pill versus 2 “horse pills” every day? No contest!)
The only bad news was that I was a day short of my “last day” estimate. I will be done on the 29th, so I still have 11 more to go. I can live with that.
We stopped at Sam’s Club to get gas yesterday, and I was amazed at how long the lines were midafternoon on a Monday. We were there for almost 45 minutes! Michael has been driving me to the doctor and he can’t come inside so he’s been keeping the engine running for the AC. We go through a lot of gas that way.
Still HOT and getting hotter. We’re getting into the record setting temps for this time of year. The average for mid June is 100 and the previous record is 109. We’re looking at 113 today (and it’s already 104). Yikes!
