Rita, Jack is still in my prayers for a speedy recovery.
Arthur, the apartment building we live in is almost 30 years old so we expect some things to go wrong. Funny thing is most of the problems we have had seem to be related to the new appliances. And hopefully now everything has been taken care of (or will be by next Wednesday).
Mark, we were in England and France in the mid 90’s around 11/11. They take what we have renamed “Veteran’s Day” very seriously over there. To them it is still “Armistice Day”. The Arch de Triomphe has a tomb of the unknown soldier beneath it, and it was covered with a blanket of flowers and had an armed honor guard. The Arch itself had a scaffolding set up around it for a ceremony on Armistice Day. I visited the Chateau at Versailles and walked in the Hall of Mirrors where they keep the table on which the armistice was signed. The actual signing took place in the Trianon Palace Hotel nearby to the Chateau. (We stayed in the Trianon Hotel which is on the same grounds as the Trianon Palace Hotel and they are connected by an underground tunnel. All of the amenities, like salons and spas were at the Palace while the smaller hotel had a restaurant and a Jazz Bar.)
My idea for storing the DVD boxes turned out okay. We bought a small bookcase that matches the TV stand and the boxes fit on it along with a few books.
The weather continues in the mid 60’s during the day and 40’s or 50’s at night. The ten day forecast looks pretty monotonous.
Good morning Vagabonds.
