Up to yesterday, the places we’ve been have had either a narrator or lots of open spaces or both. Yesterday’s museum had neither. I found that by the end of the tour, my back and hips were screaming at me for the slow shuffle you do looking at closely spaced exhibits in a museum. I don’t usually have a problem with walking, but standing in one place for too long kills my back. I think we’ll stick with more interactive tours from now on. Today’s agenda is a driving tour of Lynchburg. We will stop at the visitor’s center and pick up a CD (or maybe MP3) narrative that directs the path through the city and tells you all about each stop. We did something similar in Texas last fall, and it can be fun and informative.
Today’s forecast is for 72 and rain. Hopefully it won’t rain hard enough to inhibit our tour.
