I haven’t been in Henderson long enough to hear of any ghostly tales. And the section of Anaheim we lived in was too new. No big old houses to be haunted.
That reminds me of a tale from my early adulthood. I have a cousin who is about 15 years younger than me. Once when I was visiting our mutual grandparents, my aunt (his mom) told me he refused to sleep upstairs at Grandma’s house because he was convinced it was haunted up there. (he was about 13). Everyone had told him “there’s no such things as ghosts”, but he just didn’t buy it. So I told him some ghost “lore”, including the fact that since no one had died in that house (our grandfather had built the house), there weren’t any “restless spirits” to haunt there. After I had returned home, I got a letter from my grandmother asking what I had told Tim. She said he never had a problem sleeping in the upstairs bedrooms again.
Today is “pack and load” day. My usual Thursday group has cancelled this week, so I’ll spend the day putting together what we need for our weekend of camping and will load most of it into the RV this afternoon. That way we can leave right away on Friday.
Forecast is for 97, and no triple digits in sight. Has anyone heard that it is snowing somewhere in the Northeast?
