Why leave education to parents? Not that they don’t already have input, but what’s with all this opting out attitude?
There are all kinds of decisions parents make that are subject to other forces. When I was a kid, we got left in the car while the parents went in the store to shop. Try that now. Or corporal punishment. I’m not saying those things are right; I’m saying they’re no longer within the parents’ discretion.
This idea that parents always know what’s best for their kids is nonsense. That’s why we have professionals.
