I’ll agree they could have done better on “clean up” and control in some areas, but when people try to blame an assault or shooting that happened three miles away on the demonstrations, it’s a tad bit of a reach. They are clearing out, and I’d say the long-term occupation without foresight was but at least unlike those “right wing” protests of the TEA party, they weren’t openly packing guns, while standing up for “the man”.
I do find it interesting that most of the intelligent people that started off with the TEA movement saw that OWS made more clearly their point of reducing offensive power, like from banks and corporate institutions far more damaging to individual rights than anything “government” has done.
