I’ll grant that Lila isn’t the sharpest or most successful person but I definitely do NOT like the arrogant tone Annie takes. Very distasteful. Not a huge fan of her know-it-all personality. A bit of a “Mary Sue” I’d say. She’s not only extremely smart, academically, but oddly streetwise. These attributes can combine in one person but seldom and a character without weaknesses leaves you no where to go with her story arc. Having a misfortune happen doesn’t impart wisdom beyond your years. It might give you a new perspective but it won’t give you knowledge you have no way of acquiring. I suppose you could complete her story arc with her cancer coming out of remission and killing hr but that seems way too dark for this comic strip.
