funny but some GOP guy just said they should close all state schools and make boutique schools. They are sure not in touch with reality, for the most part.I had public school education, so did most kids I knew except the Catholic school. And we , public school and Catholic school kids, all turned out OK, but the world is scarier now.

Dumbing down the masses, the next step in the Oligarchy’s plans for the non-elite citizens of the good old USA. It’s been working for the Mullahs in Muslim countries for thousands of years.

Need to change the financing system for schools. Say a 1% sales tax on everything nation wide and divide it equally among all students then each school district would get that amount per student. No other funding allowed and students could chose where to go. Bet that would make the schools competitive.

Your views on public schooling are highly entertaining. I’d just love to hear you sound off about Social Security, public libraries, fluoridated water, etc. Hell, I bet your could inspire a new comic strip.

Our country is too big and diverse for that. n Anyway, there is already inequality within districts. Just look at a big district like LAUSD or even Pasadena USD—if the district can’t get it right at the local level, how will the nation do it/

And we all saw what a debacle No Child Left Behind was, which was as close to nationalization as we’ve gotten.
