I suspect that during the early computer era, many people had the idea to develop some kind of software for computers that we could use. But, it took young Bill Gates and friend to make the operation system that we now call Microsoft. Likewise, I’m sure that during Edison’s time there were many with the same ideas, the infinite creativity and potential, but it took Thomas to build it and make it into something we can all use. I invented two items that worked for me, necessity being the mother of invention. But, others, either copied my invention or came up with the same idea, made them work, patented them, and converted them into a salable product.
