GOP has no idea how IVF works — the whole process — and most of them have only a rudimentary understanding of how women’s bodies work at all. So when they parrot the “Of course I support IVF to build families!” alongside “Human life begins at the moment of conception," they don’t see it as a contradiction.
Those “moment of conception" laws and constitutional provisions sound all warm and fuzzy and apple pie in the abstract, and were passed based on that. All the warnings of what it could mean were brushed aside as alarmist.
Anti science and education will do that.
Now they’re out to convince as much of the electorate as possible that there’s no conflict between those and the nice white families needing IVF to have their lovely family to feature on their Christmas cards(fully armed!) or on the campaign trail.
