Apparently a battery-powered sawzall with diamond blade makes short work of one of the ribs, which can then be bent aside. The US then welds it back together, leaving a different color weld. So the guys with the saws have taken to bending it back straight and putting clay on it so it looks like a weld, thus saving everyone (including the welders) quite a bit of effort the next time.
