Who was it who said, “The only thing worse than getting everything you ask for is getting everything you ask for.” For decades, I would often vote for the party who would balance out the ticket. If Dems had the house, I would want Repubs to have the senate and vice versa. If all both houses and the White House belong to just one ‘side’, we could see a situation like Venezuela. Parties opposing Hugo Chavez chose not to run at all in some kind of protest, but all it did was allow Chavez to put his people into positions of authority and he restructured the political system to keep him in power ever since. The extreme liberal agenda is almost as frightening to me as the extreme conservative agenda. If the water is too hot, or too cold, no one can swim the distance. We need to find a middle ground with which we can live, or extremists, like RightisRight who says an armed revolution is now warranted, will dominate the tone and content of our laws. I have not read any liberals who are ready to see conservative citizens killed, or incarcerated, for their views, but RightisRight, OrthodoxCatholic, and a few other conservatives have made those comments. But we certainly do have extremist liberals in our society.Get involved folks. Write to your legislators, circulate a petition, and make your voice heard in places other than just GC. We have some great moderates here and our nation needs to hear your voices.Respectfully,C.

Middle ground?.Not possible..I think, however, we should look at what people complain about all the time and accept that they are mostly phantoms, fear, the make believe and other unmanifested boogeymen..No one will come to take your guns away. Your grandchildren won’t be panhandling in the streets (unless they’re just stupid and were raised poorly). Gays won’t make Jesus go away (although Christians might)..At this point, simply moving money from private hands who do nothing with it into public spaces where it can pay salaries and stimulate spending is the right thing to do.

The 112th Congress was the least productive in history, thanks to Boehner’s lack of leadership and the record setting filibusters in the Senate. The 113th won’t be any better.
