Bush ‘caught’ Saddam by launching a wholescale invasion of his country, an invasion that cost more American lives than the 9/11 attacks, hundreds of billions of dollars, and that’s not even mentioning the Iraqi civilians who died in that conflict.. Saddam was no threat to America at the time, and in fact, Bush made things a whole lot worse, by invading Iraq..
First of all, that invasion was what made Abu Mussab al-Zarqawi. Nobody had ever heard of the guy before then, and most likely nobody would have today.
Second, Zarqawi was only ‘caught’ after The Bush administration had previously refused to go after him…on numerous occasions.
Oh, and note that the CIA under Bush found, “no significant leads’ in the hunt for Bin Laden as of 2007.
As fof Khalid Sheik Muhammed, the Bush administration got plenty of credit for his capture at the time. I would however point out that it was the Pakistani police, not US military forces, who made the actual takedown.
It’s like this jmatt.

I believe that in strict, technical terms, this is known as ‘Closing the barn door after the horse has bolted,’
Going after Saddam also gave the al-Qaeda a new source of revenue, btw
