Democrats, especially right now, will show little appetite for a rich New Yorker trying to buy his way into the White House. His very campaign, a desperate response to the successes of Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, proves why their proposals to get money out of politics and make the wealthy (who have benefited the most from a system that enabled them and protects them) to pay their fair share (and relieve the over-taxed, highly squeezed middle class) are exactly what is needed.
Especially with Bloomberg’s history of “stop and frisk” (which he defended and even bragged about until last week when, after belittling Joe Biden for apologizing too much, Bloomberg apologized for what once was his proud achievement) no candidate can win without significant support from the African American community, and this is a deal-killer not only with African-Americans but with all who stand with them in their struggle for justice.
