Surrrre. Miners are middle class.At least they get free medical…once they get the black lung.

Miners are being put out of business by frackers. Coal is being replaced by a cheaper natural gas.

Henry obviously has no clue what mechanization, and mountain top removal has done to the job market in mining. Now as for “alternative” energy, like wind, and solar, those jobs are growing substantially. “Fracking” jobs are going to flip flop with the price of oil, which is still way down, making the technique marginal economically.
