Dean: The daylight! I can feel it burning! I am becoming a vampire! I am! GGAHHHHHH! Dean: I didn't collapse into a burning pile of ash and scatter with the wind! I must still be in the early stages. Heart: Definitely in the early stages of something.
Vampires, in general, don’t die in sunlight. That was invented by Nosferatu. The three main inspirations for the modern vampire – Dracula, Carmilla, and Ruthven – all went out in the sun, with no ill effects aside from a reduction in vampiric powers. Even Buffy the Vampire slayer removed being dusted by sunlight, in the later comics!
