Perhaps it’s because he was second in charge of the Obama Administration that became famous for its unfriendliness to Britain, removing a bust of Sir Winston Churchill from the Oval Office, siding with Argentina over the Falklands, calling France America’s “strongest ally”, and even snubbing the funeral of Margaret Thatcher.
So the world mourns an old white woman who inherited (rather than earned) her wealth from ancestors who stole that wealth, lived a life without want and whose job was to wave at people while wearing silly hats. I’m sure that the people in Somalia and Pakistan are united in grief over this.
