“They are willing to eschew economic policies that promote economic growth”
Like the tax rate that promoted economic growth in the 90s? Oh, yes. We can’t have that, it is too socialist! It would… it woudl punish growth!
Church, you bring up some words from 2008 that you don’t even give a link to, and basically claim Obama is in on some conspiracy to completely change the way America operates. He had had two years and a bicameral majority to try to do that, and has repeatedly not only not been able to, but hardly shown any interest in fighting for such a cause. Even on public healthcare, something present in pretty much every Western state, he (and the Democrats) compromised time and again, until the bill that was signed simply provided more clients to private insurers - effectively stimulating their businesses. So since there is a possibility they might face a law that limits their non-medical expenses to - was it 15 cents of every dollar they take? - this supposedly counts as trying to bring communism.
Obama’s perfectly fine to being to the right of Clinton on progressive taxation, on the estate tax, or on many other issues if he can claim the smallest of victories. It’s almost laughable that conservatives would actually rail against him - if they were in the majority they might actually have to make more concessions to get the Dems on board, and they’d have to be responsible for all that happens!
