Frazz by Jef Mallett for January 02, 2005
Transcript:
Caulfield: New Year's resolutions are all about wording. Easy tasks you phrase as "will" resolutions: e.g. "I will try a persimmon." You do it, it's done, you can't screw it up. Impossible tasks you phrase as "won't" resolutions: e.g. "I won't bait Mrs. Olsen in class." You blow it early, you've failed, but then you're off the hook for the year. Frazz: Someone could resolve to be a little more optimistic. Caulfield: That's the third technique: keep 'em vague.
