Dennis: Ah, politics, politics. There's your friend, Gordon, asking us all to pray for world peace, while a tiny war simmers inside his own house. Elizabeth: Therese and I didn't fight, Dennis. We left before anything happened. Dennis: But, the potential was there. So, what's the story? ... Anthony got himself married, but he still loves you. Am I right? And you still care for him. Elizabeth: Stop it. Dennis: 'Cause if that's the case, you have to stay completely away from him. Elizabeth: It's so unfair. Dennis: Hey... whoever said "all's fair in love and war" probably never took part in either.
The expression “All’s fair in love and war” means all is permitted - a different point of view than that expressed by Dennis.
