Not that they use them as much anymore, but I want schools to put RFID in all their books.
(This despite the fact I want them to put all books either online or in portable memory, maybe a flash drive. So you might call it Plan B.)
With a few readers around school campuses, they could know where all books were and if they were checked out to a given student, you could assume that student was with the book unless it were loaned or stolen.
I also want facial recognition on schools and buses. If a kid goes missing, I want to know where she was the last known time. Also the faces of people not usually on campus or not allowed on campus or the disguised or hidden faces of anyone on campus.
“Hey, he graduated last year. Why is he in the school now?”
“Not only that, but why is he walking down the halls with a semiautomatic shotgun?”
…………………….
“Where is my child?”
“She’s on Spare bus 29-09 and GPS says it is on Olive Road, three blocks from your house and headed your way.
