I agree with Tigger on the closeness of the upcoming election. The question most concerning is best illustrated by a comment made a few months ago by Ted Nugent, and the actions of the young liberal man with a gun and 15 chic fil a sandwiches-the one who shot the security guard at the offices of a conservative organization. Ted Nugent said if Obama gets elected again, he(Nugent) would either be in jail or dead, implying he’d try to kill the President. The liberal walked into the office, told people he didn’t like their politics, and shot the guard. Read the comments and you see other people who are verbally slapping, punching, and shooting at their neighbors. How far might it go after the elections? We must bring respect back into political discourse. Respectfully,C.

    Here’s a lil’ trivia question 4 ya:

Which of the following two books does Paul Ryan hand out as gifts to his new staffers.

    Is it

    A. The Holy Bible

    B. Atlas Shrugged

So which book’s principles do you think he’s MORE devoted to?

What makes it even more amusing is that Anton LaVey’s Satanic Bible is largely inspired by Ayn Rand’s philosophy

ayn rand books are horrible. foutainhead, atlas shrugged, are horrible. worse than l.ron hubbard. besides, doesn’t their christian faith dictates to help the needy, poor, and the sick? but, their political faith is wealth and social darwinism.

The REAL problem was that Ayn Rand’s philosophy was total narcissism, fitted to an economic theory that ONLY the rich matter!

Her best friend and acolyte was Alan Greenspan, who implemented that disaster as national economic policy at the Federal Reserve, through several administrations. Only after he “retired” and wrote a book, did he confess it was “all a mistake”.

Now, with a passion even greater than Greenspan, or Bush, Mitt and Ryan want to go back to it, with a vengeance!

Paul Ryan has publicly, more than once, explained that he was attracted to Rand’s economic philosophy….he clearly rejected and still rejects her religious atheistic opinions.-Ryan is not anti-religion and not pro-choice on abortion. He wisely discriminates in what he accepts from other people’s opinions. He has an excellent reputation in D.C. since his first job there. He has respect and is given credit for serious work in congress.

Ayn Rand is just as good a philosopher as is Robert Heinlein, but not nearly as good a writer.

Writer/PhilosopherName at birth: Alissa Zinovievna Rosenbaum

birthplace= St.Petersburg, RussiaAyn Rand is the writer and philosopher known for what came to be called Objectivism: the philosophy that the individual should be preeminent over the state and collective action, and that enlightened selfishness and capitalism are the purest forms of individual freedom. Born and educated in Russia, Ayn Rand moved to the United States in 1926, moving to Hollywood to begin a career as a screenwriter. In 1932 she sold her first screenplay, but soon turned to writing novels. Her novel The Fountainhead was published in 1943 and became her best-known novel. The story of Howard Roark, a principled architect whose brilliant designs and pure ideals were sneered at and blocked by the cultural elites, it was an early template of the Objectivist ideal. Still occasionally working as a screenwriter, Rand moved to New York City in 1951 and published Atlas Shrugged in 1957. That book introduced John Galt, a genius who organizes a strike of great creative thinkers and capitalists to “stop the motor of the world” and prove his point that collectivism is corrupt. Rand’s ideas were both popular and controversial in an era when communism was still a major force in world affairs. In the early 21st century she was in the news again, as so-called Tea Party candidates suggested that capitalists and industrial leaders should “go Galt” and leave liberals and collectivists to suffer.end article from Who2.com-She was a refugee from Marxism, collectivism, communism. She chose freedom and capitalism.(Marxist nations outlaw Christianity)

After reading a rather detailed, biography of her some months ago, and having read her books way back when, the summary dt can be in one word: “nuts”. Her real motivation and guide is simple narcissism as religion.
