A one day turnaround was a bit optomistic.

@Number ThreeThat’s not weird at all. It’s natural to think of someone when you read or hear something about where they live - especially if you think fondly of them. I hope you enjoy today’s comics. If you haven’t done so yet, you’d better get over to Andy Capp. They’re talking about him having surgery… :-)

Don’t worry Linus. I’m sure Cliff Clavin will take care of it.

Speaking of mail, I got two postcards yesterday. One had MISS SENT TO CAYMAN ISLANDS (from Romania) stamped on it and the other had MISSENT TO BARBADOS (from Israel) stamped on it. I live in the Bahamas.

Maybe the post office is just now getting over the laugh of seeing the same return address as delivery address.

@ GROG: Actually, mailing something to yourself is probably the cheapest way to establish the date of possession. Send yourself a copy of your great American novel and you have your copyright established in any court in the world.@bradcperri: When I was seeing these comics originally, only the Sunday strips were coloured. I wonder if Sparky had anything to do with these colours prior to his passing.

Oh, I remember this one. His blanket ends up going on a world-wide tour for a week, before finally returning to him.

The U.S. Postal Service phased out mail sacks in the early 1990’s. Now all mail is shipped in rectangular metal containers of various sizes, all designed to fit in semi-tracker trailers.

@kevindix: The urban myth of mailing something to yourself to establish ownership (or “the poor man’s copyright”) is just that – a myth. It would not stand up in any court in the land. Your copyright on something is established the moment it exists in tangible form.

Linus wails: “Oh blanket, come back to me! I can’t take it any longer.” He’ll be shaking and sweating.

When this comic was published it took a week for the Post Office to deliver a letter to the house next door!
