Poncho: You're only eating a few cookies, and saving the rest? Chazz: That's right. Poncho: Why on earth would you not eat the whole bag? Chazz: I don't want to eat a whole bag of cookies! Chazz: Look, that's why there's these tabs on the bag, so seal it for later. Poncho: You mean all humans are like you?? Poncho: The more I love with them, the less I understand them. Boomer: Sing it, brother.

Yeah there are some who would eat the whole bag, but I wouldn’t be one of them. Actually, when I think about it, I wouldn’t even eat some of them.

Humans have what are called reasoning skills, Poncho. Some are better than others at this skill, however.

All my dogs have asked me this (via TheStare™). It’s instinct, really. “Why would you not eat all of it now!? Another dog could come by and eat it all and then there’d be nothing to eat later!! Wait! Stop hiding food in the magic white box! I can’t smell it when it goes in there! It must disappear! STOP STOP STOP!”

What do you mean, “save them for later?” What if there is no later?

Actually it is better to eat the whole bag of cookies that leaving it and then forget it. It is not good to eat if you wait too long and leave the bag opened.Poncho is right

Answer: Humans save their food so they don’t starve to death later and inevitably be unable to eat more food, because they’re dead.
